After recommending Cakes de Fleur to another friend today - who loved it and said she can't wait to share it with her family, naturally - I realized I better pass the word along to yelpers too. Cakes de Fleur is popular even among those that do not consider themselves "cake fans" because they make cake that really tastes good, with or without frosting. And their frosting, usually buttercream for me, is hard to beat. My favorite cake flavors are the carrot and lemon but I will not ever turn down any of their flavors. I've had Cakes de Fleur cakes for a long time, and I was so excited to get to plan a wedding cake with them. Everything about the consultation and the final product totally exceeded my high expectations! It was so much fun to taste flavors and brainstorm with the owner, and the cake was really amazing in the detail and bringing our wild ideas to life. Speaking of wedded bliss, I am really sorry that I did not save any of the chocolate Cakes de Fleur cake for my husband (that we received today as a surprise gift from Utah). My husband, who is eating healthy and not a cake fan, was really bummed out and I don't blame him. He said his main consolation is that he knows next time we're in SLC he knows we'll get some cake from here.

I went into the shop and shared how I needed a birthday cake for a great aunt's birthday: two tiered, two flavors, for about 30 people, with a flexible budget, but I was open to suggestions and didn't have a clear idea of where to go from here. The clerk looked at me blankly. I asked if she had some pictures that I could get some ideas from, and she suggested I "Look on line." I don't think it's unreasonable to get ideas from the cake store itself, I was right there with cash in hand ready to order something and she basically turned me away! I smiled and told her to "sell me on whatever you've got, I am ready to buy!" She seemed flustered and kept repeating, "We're a custom cake shop, we'll do anything you want." If you have a very clear vision of what you want, perhaps they can help you, but if you want customer service, I suggest you go elsewhere. I did.

Cakes de fluer is the best tasting and moist cupcakes around! You've gotta try one. We went all the way to their location in South Salt lake. Glad to know Sweet Country, in Draper now carries them, a very beautiful store and coffee shop, by the way. Now we don't have to drive so far for our favorite treats!

I needed a cake for my gender reveal party. The staff responded quickly to my inquiries, answered all my questions, met with me in person before I ordered, and did a great job putting together a beautiul cake based on the image I provided. My cake was also a great price! Very affordable and an overall great job. Oh, and the chocolate tasted great! Very moist and thick. Thanks guys!

I was traveling to Utah for a large birthday party. I searched numerous cake companies and then sent a request to several for quotes with my special order cake. Cakes de Fleur responded first, and accommodated everything I asked for. Our cake was over the top and taken to a whole extra level, exceeding my expectations. It was beautiful, creative, and delicious. Everyone loved it! Highly recommend!!!

I live in Phoenix and was coming to town for my wife's grandmother's 80th birthday. We knew we wanted a cake with one of her pictures on it for her party - but it was not easy to find a bakery with the ability to do so. I was hesitant to order such an expensive cake from a place that didn't have many reviews, but trusted my instinct and went with it. We ordered the 1/2 sheet white cake with raspberry filling & raspberry butter cream frosting. The picture turned out beautiful and the cake tasted just as good. If I ever need a custom cake in SLC again, I'll give them a call!

When I was planning my wedding last year, I had no problem deciding what I wanted my cake to look like. I had known for years. After watching the movie "Because I Said So", I fell in love with a wedding cake featured in that movie for a very brief couple of seconds. I didn't think I could ever find a bakery that could recreate that cake, especially as it was very difficult to get a picture of it. My mother-in-law to be suggested Cakes de Fleur. We ordered the cake, and while I was more than happy with the delicious flavors we tasted at the tasting, I was apprehensive every day up until my wedding, wondering how it would turn out. Turns out, I worried for nothing. Not only was the cake exactly the way I envisioned it, it was even better! It was the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever seen to this day.

My husband and I used Cakes De Fleur to make our wedding cake for our wedding on July 19th, 2013. We live in the Chicago suburbs and were having a destination wedding in Park City, Utah. I searched extensively for bakeries that not only had good reviews, but also reasonable prices. Laurlee at the bakery was SO accommodating! My sister and I met with her the April before the wedding, and we tasted all of their cake flavors. We settled on a two-tier cake (we only had 39 total guests), with the bottom tier being lemon cake with lemon filling and the top tier being chocolate cake with coconut filling. The cake was absolutely delicious! The price was very, very reasonable, and they delivered to Park City without a problem. I had a very specific vision for my cake, and Laurlee definitely delivered. I would definitely recommend Cakes De Fleur for Salt Lake City-area weddings.

This place should have more reviews. I am not a huge fan of these gourmet cupcake places and wanted a real cake for my anniversary but wasn't sure where to turn. I'm glad I chose cakes de fleur, the cake tasted so good and the icing was perfect, not piled on. The cake was so cute too. I now have a place I can trust that is a true cake place and it's in a convenient location.

Unbelievably delicious! Cakes de Fleur made the cake for my wedding 3 weeks ago. My husband decided on the lemon cake and I like the chocolate cake. We alternated tiers and ordered some sheet cakes for the additional guests. I had requested a new combination based on the standard chocolate cake using a dark chocolate ganache for the middle. Cakes de Fleur rose and surpassed the challenge! Guests raved about this cake - in fact, people are still talking about it! It was just to-die-for!

These cupcakes were brought into my work as part of a promo for the upcoming Buddy Walk and they were great! We had the chocolate, lemon and carrot cake. The cake was moist, had just enough frosting and were not overly sweet. They also had cute little pieces of sugar paper on top with the promo info. Well done, can't wait to go try more flavors!
